Chief Executive Officer

Chris Schoen, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Barry Real Estate Companies, has worked in the real estate industry over a twenty year career, concentrating most of his experience on the development process. A graduate of the architectural program at Auburn University, he had the distinction of developing and managing the construction of three class A Office Developments in Atlanta combining for over 3 million RSF of space, all before reaching the age of 30. Mr. Schoen was responsible for Riverwood, the thirty acre mixed use development incorporating 2.1 million gross square feet in Atlanta. As a Project Manager, he coordinated the development of Building 400 at Northpark Town Center, an eighteen story, 586,000 RSF office building. As liaison and counsel to John C. Portman, Jr. on the largest single project of Portman's career ($390 million), Mr. Schoen was director of development for One Peachtree, a sixty-two story office and retail structure containing approximately 1.3 million RSF of office and retail space. Responsible for all phases of development, construction, total budgetary control, supervision of architect, liaison with lender, coordinating lead tenant leases and responsibility for total project economics, while at Portman Barry Chris Schoen established himself as one of the principal developers in the southeast. He brings to Barry Real Estate Companies an exceptional understanding of the development process from all technical aspects and relationships built over his twenty year career in the Atlanta real estate community.
